Ashadayaka Seva Trust

Thanks to everyone's generosity, we've gotten many critical programs up and running: medical, dental, nutrition, karate, music, dancing, and tutoring.

The next step is actually 3 steps:

1) To save enough money to continue all programming for the next 2 years....so we don't have to worry about money in the short term.

2) School. The kids currently attend a school run by the government. It's taught in the local language and offers very basic education. We've received a generous grant that will send 7 of the kids to a school taught in English...we'd like to send 7 more next year!

2) A new house: In 2 years, the lease will expire on the current house. And, at that point, we'd like to purchase a new house so that Suresh and Parvati don't have to worry about moving or being evicted every 5 years. The total cost will be about $125,000US...so we have to start saving now. A special account has been set up so the money is ear-marked for the house purchase only. And, the account earns 9% interest...so the more money we collect early on, the more interest we will generate.
